Finding the best genetics for YOUR farm!
Hybrids and varieties from Brodbecks and AgriGold have been researched and tested in our plots, on farm trials and research plots throughout the Midwest. Our plots, side-by-side trials and company research information allows our agronomy representatives to have extensive knowledge on the products. The focus in seed is on each hybrid or variety's individual genetics and how they need to be managed in our area of the state. We work with producers to diversify their hybrid and variety choices and place them where they will bring the best possible results for the producer. The companies we work with are the best in the industry and have access to the best genetics and trials, creating a seed lineup as solid and economical as any company in the industry.
Genetics
These companies have access to some of the best genetics in the industry. Between AgriGold and Brodbecks, the genetic pool they are able to pull from is one of the largest in the industry. The unique part, however, is that we are able to obtain hybrids that work specifically in Ohio. Many of the larger companies are not willing to produce a hybrid unless it is a staple for the whole corn belt, with Ohio being on of the least important regions in that decision. Both of these companies are willing to take that extra initiative to help us get the hybrids that specifically work for the eastern corn belt.
Research
Research of hybrids is key to finding the best placement on your farm. AgriGold and Brodbecks are extensive in their research and share their findings with our agronomy representatives. Combined with our research plot findings, we are able to make the best recommendation to place hybrids for your specific farm and management practices. Some of the areas researched for the hybrids are root strength, stalk strength, early emergence and vigor, nitrogen use, disease resistance and tolerance, fertilizer usage, harvest ability, stress tolerance, and many others.
Quality Control
These companies are fanatical about quality control. When you purchase a bag of AgriGold or Brodbecks seed you are getting the best quality possible. Both companies guarentee quality with state of the art quality control. Every seed is examined and seeds with deformities are discarded, leaving you with the very best quality. Bags are lined with plastic to ensure moisture doesn't reach the cleaned and treated seed and are kept in climate control warehouses until they are delivered to the seed suppliers in the winter.
Seed Treatments
We feel that insecticide and fungicide seed treatments are one of the most economical additions to your seed. AgriGold offers Poncho insecticide from Gustafson and AgriShield fungicide seed treatments. Brodbecks offers the Cruiser line of seed treatments from Syngenta. Both are excellent options and having both treatments in the lineup allows us to compare them and use the best option for your farm.
Independence
AgriGold and Brodbecks both provide us with an outstanding lineup of seed genetics and technology. Both are able to use the sed genetics and technology that has the best performance and economic viability to the farmer. With AgriGold and Brodbecks, we can find the best genetics and technology to help make your farm profitable.
Research Plots
Each year we plant several replicatated corn, soybean and wheat research plots throughout all locations to evaluate hybrids and varieties from AgriGold and Brodbecks, as well as other leading companies on the market. We feel that it is important to know how the products we sell compare to others on the market. Emergence, early season vigor and growth, stress tolerance, nitrogen use, root and stalk strength, disease resistance and end yield are just a few of the characteristics we evaluate when comparing hybrids in our research plots. Knowing how to manage the hybrids is the most important factor in achieving the highest possible yield from that hybrid. Our research plots allow us to see the differences and are replicated to evaluate the consistancy of hybrids on different soils and weather patterns that occur during the season.
Side by Side Trials
Side by side trials are key to find out how hybrids and varieties will act on your farm. We promote side by side trials in many areas of agronomy, buy seed side by sides are some of the most important in deciding how hybrids and varieties will handle specific fields. All side by side results are recorded and kept for future use in deciding how genetics will handle your specific area. The best side by side is not done in one strip, but by splitting the planter of drill to see the average over the whole field and eliminating variance issues from single strip trials.
